Hug Kor Chiang Khan Short Film Camp
We, Front Row Group, which consisted of me, Thaninnat Chotikonpong,
Sittinee Thepnakorn, Natchaya Songthong, and Jirapas Kliengkerd, got a
chance to be the representative team to enter this camp in the name of
Khon Kaen University International College.
In the camp, we got to meet the top-tier directors from both Thailand
and Laos and hear a lecture from them, which is almost a
once-in-a-lifetime thing. Along with 30 other teams across Thailand
and Laos, we got to write a script and shoot a short film within 3
days, which is somehow stressful, but it's an opportunity to try
something new and test my limits.
The comments and suggestions from the directors were something we
learned a lot from. I'm definitely sure that the experience and
knowledge gained from this camp will be beneficial in the future.
The final product for our group is a horror short film called "The
Mouth (ปากเป็น)," which is the
Isan word for talking without thinking about the consequence or
talkative but nonsense. This word can describe all the story in the
short film perfectly, since the main theme of the short film is the
main character, who doesn't believe in any ghosts or holy things, then
gets into a story that can result in her life from the holy things
from her own mouth.
Member of KKU E-Sports Club, Khon Kaen University
Since I've been interested in gaming for a long time, this club is
definitely my place. I got into this club when I was a freshman and
passed the interview flawlessly. Then stay in the club until the end
of the sophomore's second semester. This club is also a place where I
learned how to work as a team and met many amazing people with amazing
skills in various fields.
In the club, I got to use my graphic design skills to design various
posters for each game competition held by the club. Also, this is the
place where I can use my other skill, livestream boardcasting. Since I
was a former vice president of the audiovisual department back in high
school and got a chance to control and direct the livestream often,
when there is a livestream for some competition that has a small
number of staff, I can help them with this.
But the most proud and fun work that I was a part of was the KKU
eSports Minecraft Ultra Hardcore and Build Battle competition, held on
January 7–8, 2023. This time, I'm not just a graphic designer for
posters but also took on responsibilities as a contest rule writer,
map maker, map designer, and competition judge, since Minecraft has
been my favorite game since I was in grade 2.
There might have been some errors and imperfections during the
competition, but the result came out satisfied. Like when there are
some players who got into a bug or didn't listen to the judge and talk
back to our team. We have to decide things sharply and quickly, with
fairness to everyone. Overall, it was a fun experience working with a
game I like and achieving the goal that I have been setting for a long
time: that one day I will hold the Minecraft competition.
SMD Science Show visual designer and coach, Demonstration School of
Khon Kaen University (Modindaeng)
Science shows are something that I never thought I would end up with
in high school. But since the 11th grade, when I was in the
audiovisual department and got to help the teacher, Mr. Surachet
Sansawat, with the video recording and the chart making for the show,
I fell in love with it.
Other than video recording and chart making, which I'm responsible
for. I'm also mixing the soundtrack for each year's competition. And
along with my close friend, we help our high school junior, who's
attending the science show competition, with their acting, speaking,
and science information. The experience of spending time with my close
friends, my teacher, and our juniors is very heartwarming. We
eventually became something similar to a family, with new members
every year.
Every year, my high school sends one of the science shows to
participate in national science week at the faculty of science at Khon
Kaen University. And since 2019, I've been responsible for those
positions mentioned above, even when I graduated from high school,
since I'm the one that teachers can rely on. I still went back to help
the teacher every now and then; it's like that was my second
home.
Vice President of The Audiovisual Department, Demonstration School
of Khon Kaen University (Modindaeng)
In the 11th grade, I got a chance to become the vice president of the
audiovisual department. At first, I was offered the position of
president of the department but refused, since I didn't want to take a
role in leadership. But it turned out that this was a place where I
learned how to be a leader at some point.
The audiovisual department gave me a place to develop my graphic
design skills and the leadership skills mentioned above. I mostly work
with my friend from the public relations department (Pitchakorn
Towanna) on designing a picture that will go along with the post on
the official Facebook page and the official Instagram account of the
student committee, WE ARE SMD. I'm also the admin on both of them.
Other than graphic design, I've also got a chance to be on the bag
design team for the Khamkaen-Modindaeng Sport Game 2019.
For my leadership role in the department, there are times when the
president of the department isn't available since she is on a special
program that has many events, and I have to take on the role of leader
in order to proceed with the work.
Member of The Student Council, Demonstration School of Khon Kaen
University (Modindaeng)
At first, me and my close friend, Sirikorn Kaewkot, were selected for
the student council by the teacher in 9th grade because no one else
wanted to be there. But later on, I realized that this is the place
where I can speak and make the school better. For the next year
onward, we have volunteered ourselves to be members of the council.
I use the student council as a place to speak up for the students,
not just in my class but also in other classes, about what they want
the school to do to make their time here better. And in the 12th
grade, I also spoke up about politics and the restrictions that the
school has on it. Which shouldn't be, since politics is in our
everyday lives and affects us. Moreover, I also suggest the council
stop the beauty pageant competition. Since this competition promotes
beauty privilege. The result was that the competition was canceled,
and the school is now more open about national politics.
